Just finished the book last week or so ... The book caught my interest when i read the snippet (where arrr? i forgot la) .. A good start I would say ... the book .. About Dr. David Henry an ortho surgeon who had lost a sister to Down Syndrome when he was young and suddenly gifted with a down syndrome daughter who born together with a brother. He got twins but he gave away the down syndrome daughter to Caroline Gill a nurse who had crush on him secrectly. She was suppose to send the girl to an institute but after seeing the place herself she had a feeling that she must raise the child herself. Being a hero, she struggle to get education and better life for Phoebe.
Haunted with guilty, David isolated himself from his wife who suffered the seperations and Paul, the beloved son grew up in a tension atmosphere.
Along the way, Norah, the wife had involeved in a number of affairs which Henry aware but keep it secret. Paul grew as a rebel youngster, Caroline met Al, a truck driver and a lot of flashback.
The story is about secrets we kept and about decision we make.
